These Terms & Conditions apply to any tours booked with Joyful Safaris and Tours, a local travel company based in Arusha, Tanzania. These Terms & Conditions govern the contractual relationship between Joyful Safaris and Tours and yourself.
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By booking any tour with Joyful Safaris and Tours, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
You shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all clients named in the booking, and therefore all clients within that group indicate their acceptance and agreement to these Terms & Conditions. The client who confirms the booking is considered the primary contact person for all other clients named in that booking.
A booking is confirmed and these Terms & Conditions shall apply once Joyful Safaris and Tours has received the agreed deposit and the client has received written confirmation of the booking.
The client confirming the booking must be 18 years of age or older and agrees to provide full, complete, and accurate information as requested by Joyful Safaris and Tours to confirm the booking.
Any client confirming a booking on behalf of more than one participant agrees that:
i) They have the authority to make the booking on behalf of all other clients and have communicated all relevant information to them.
ii) All information provided regarding each client is complete and accurate, and all necessary consents and permissions have been obtained to share such information with Joyful Safaris and Tours.
Price Guarantee
Once your booking is confirmed and your deposit has been received, we guarantee the prices quoted for each individual item shown on your itinerary, subject to the following exceptions:
Estimated Price Increases
When booking far in advance and supplier prices are not yet confirmed, estimated price increases may apply.
Such increases will be finalized by the time final payment is due. Clients are responsible for covering increases up to a maximum of twice the estimated amount.
Government-Regulated Fees and Taxes
Sudden changes to national park fees or government taxes in Tanzania may occur without notice.
Any additional costs resulting from such changes are payable by the client.
Fuel Surcharges
Significant fuel cost increases imposed by suppliers may be passed on to clients.
Major Errors
In the event of a substantial pricing error resulting in an undercharge, Joyful Safaris and Tours reserves the right to withdraw the offer.
Exchange Rate Fluctuations
Large currency exchange fluctuations may result in revised supplier charges, which must be covered by the client.
Deposit Payment
Budget camping safaris: 40% of the total cost
Luxury lodge safaris: 75% of the total cost
Tailor-made itineraries: up to 75% of the total cost may be required
Final Payment
The remaining balance may be paid upon arrival. Cash payments are accepted and preferred.
Payment Methods
Bank transfer, credit cards, and online payment platforms may be used.
Joyful Safaris and Tours will provide all necessary payment details.
Bank Charges & Fees
All payments must be made net of bank charges. Any applicable transaction fees (e.g., credit card surcharges or wire transfer fees) are borne by the client.
Note: All payments must be made to company accounts in Tanzania. Joyful Safaris and Tours does not maintain offshore accounts.
Group Payments
Individual payments within a group are accepted; however, the designated group leader remains financially responsible for the entire booking.
All payments must be completed prior to tour commencement.
Proof of payment for bank transfers must be emailed to Joyful Safaris and Tours.
All transaction-related charges are the responsibility of the client.
Quotations are provided in USD, EUR, or Tanzanian Shillings (TZS).
Cash payments are preferably made in USD; EUR and GBP are also accepted.
Bank transfer payments may be made in any of the listed currencies.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Cancellation fees per person are as follows:

Cancellation fees are calculated based on the date written notice is received by Joyful Safaris and Tours.
As Tanzania no longer requires negative PCR testing for entry (except for unvaccinated travelers), no special flexibility applies under these Terms & Conditions.
While extremely rare, Joyful Safaris and Tours reserves the right to cancel confirmed bookings due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. If we cancel (excluding non-payment or force majeure), clients will be offered:
An alternative tour of equal standard, or
A full refund of all payments made
No compensation is payable for additional expenses incurred.
Joyful Safaris and Tours shall not be liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to war, civil unrest, natural disasters, epidemics, government actions, border closures, extreme weather, or transportation disruptions.
Joyful Safaris and Tours does not provide travel insurance. Clients are required to obtain comprehensive insurance covering medical treatment, evacuation, repatriation, cancellation, delays, and personal loss.
Clients must disclose all relevant medical conditions upon booking. Clients are responsible for ensuring their own fitness for travel and should consult a medical professional regarding vaccinations and health precautions.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requests; however, such requests are not guaranteed and do not form part of the contractual agreement.
Due to the nature of adventure travel, itineraries may change without notice. Joyful Safaris and Tours is not liable for delays, substitutions, or missed services beyond our control.
Clients acknowledge that safari and adventure travel involves inherent risks and agree to assume full responsibility for their participation. Clients must comply with all local laws and safety instructions at all times.
Any issues should be reported immediately during travel. Post-tour complaints must be submitted in writing within 30 days of tour completion.
Joyful Safaris and Tours acts as an intermediary between clients and independent service providers and is not liable for acts or omissions of third-party suppliers.
We are not liable for loss, damage, theft, injury, or delays caused by third parties, force majeure, or client negligence.
Clients grant Joyful Safaris and Tours permission to use photos and videos taken during tours for marketing and promotional purposes.
Joyful Safaris and Tours reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates take effect 10 days after publication on our website.
