Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This first day is designed for relaxation and preparation before your wildlife adventure begins.

After breakfast, begin your first full safari day with a visit to Arusha National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic and diverse parks. This beautiful park combines forest, lakes, open plains, and volcanic landscapes.

As you explore the park, you may encounter playful black-and-white colobus monkeys swinging through the trees, herds of buffaloes, elegant giraffes, zebras, and groups of hippos near the water. The alkaline lakes attract large flocks of flamingos, creating spectacular pink reflections across the water.

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Today you travel to the famous Tarangire National Park, one of the best destinations for an authentic elephant safari in Tanzania.

Tarangire is renowned for its enormous herds of African elephants, often seen moving gracefully beneath towering ancient baobab trees. The park’s river attracts a wide range of wildlife including warthogs, impalas, giraffes, and waterbucks.

This is one of the best places in Africa for Big Five safari sightings, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and if fortunate, rhinos. Large herds of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes often move through the area depending on the migration season.

You may also encounter hyenas, jackals, and the rare African wild dogs in the vast golden grasslands.

Today the safari continues to the famous Ndutu region, a key part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem and one of the best areas to witness the Great Migration calving season.
