Tarangire

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, one of the most scenic and wildlife-rich safari parks in northern Tanzania, approximately a 2-hour drive from Arusha.

Tarangire is especially famous for its large populations of elephants, and it is common to see families of elephants moving gracefully across the landscape, often gathering near the Tarangire River. The park is also known for its ancient baobab trees, which create one of the most iconic safari backdrops in Africa.

During your full-day game drive, keep your eyes open for lions resting in the shade, leopards hidden in acacia trees, giraffes feeding on treetops, zebras grazing in the open plains, and a wide variety of birdlife. With over 500 bird species recorded, Tarangire is also a paradise for bird lovers.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Serengeti

Tarangire – Central Serengeti

Today your safari continues to the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world. The drive itself is part of the experience, with opportunities for game viewing along the way.

As you enter the Serengeti, the landscape opens into endless golden plains stretching beyond the horizon. This iconic ecosystem is home to abundant wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, and massive herds of zebras and wildebeests.

Your game drive focuses on the Seronera Valley, one of the best areas in the Serengeti for spotting predators. Lions are often seen resting on kopjes, while leopards may be found lounging in tree branches. Cheetahs are frequently observed scanning the plains for prey.

If traveling during migration season, you may witness part of the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth.

Full Day in Central Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the extraordinary wildlife habitats of Central Serengeti through extended game drives.

This is one of the best places in Africa to naturally witness predator activity. Lions can often be seen stalking prey, cheetahs moving swiftly across the plains, and leopards quietly observing from elevated branches. Alongside these predators, you will encounter elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, gazelles, zebras, and numerous antelope species.

The Serengeti’s diverse environment — from open savannas to riverbanks and rocky kopjes — creates ideal conditions for incredible wildlife photography and unforgettable animal encounters.

For an even more magical experience, an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise is available at extra cost, offering panoramic views over the vast Serengeti landscape.

Ngorongoro

Central Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

After a morning game drive in Serengeti, proceed toward the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most extraordinary safari destinations in Tanzania.

Descending into the crater feels like entering a natural wildlife sanctuary. The crater floor is home to a dense concentration of animals, making it one of the best places in Africa for Big Five sightings.

Here, you may naturally encounter lions resting in the grasslands, buffaloes moving in herds, elephants wandering through the forested areas, and, with luck, the rare black rhino grazing in the open plains. Flamingos are also often seen around the soda lake, adding vibrant color to the crater scenery.

The dramatic volcanic landscape combined with rich wildlife makes this one of the highlights of any Tanzania safari itinerary.
